A Family Affair
Allow me me to introduce you to my 84 years old father, here shot by me in Erevan - Armenia, late 2017.
Gérard Chaliand is a French writer and geopolitician.
He is a world renown specialist and a pioneer on topics such as guerrilla warfare, armed insurrections, irregular conflicts, terrorism and the Art of War.
He published numerous books among which « The Strategic Atlas », « Pourquoi Perd-On la Guerre », « History of Terrorism: From Antiquity to al Qaïda » and a genetic biography « Mémoire de ma Mémoire / Memory of my Memory », relating his prismatic memory of the Armenian Genocide, lately translated in Armenian.
He has been very active on the defence and the recognition of the Kurdish populations throughout the Middle-East.
He also organised the Trial of the Nations against Turkey for the recognition of the Armenian genocide. Ever since, he and I have been wanted dead rather than alive by the Turkish Government.
I am proud of him and his political and social commitments.
I love you dad.
